WHOLE BODY

CRYOTHERAPY

What is

Whole Body Cryotherapy?

Whole Body Cryotherapy is the application of extremely cold temperature to the entire body for the purpose of treating both acute and chronic pain, inflammation, and muscle soreness.

The process is unique in that liquid nitrogen is used to immediately cool the cabin temperature to below -170deg C, and the full effects of the treatment can be realized in as short as 1-3 minutes. This is substantially more efficient than an ice bath, which takes a while to prepare, leaves the client very wet after, and takes time to clean up..

Whether you are an athlete looking to gain an edge, or someone who may be suffering from chronic muscle soreness, joint inflammation, or pain, Whole Body Cryotherapy may be what you are looking for.

How It Works

1 - Client Enters The Cryosauna

After entering the cryosauna, a cold breeze of nitrogen and air activate thermo-recptors in the skin. These start to send electrical impulses to the brain. The central nervous system (CNS) identifies a state of threat. This activates a complex adaptive reaction focused on defending the body to survive in an extremely cold environment.

2 - Vasoconstriction Begins

The CNS sends signals to the muscles and vascular systems, invoking contraction of muscles and narrowing of blood vessels. This accelerates the flow of blood, nutrition, and other resources from peripheral body parts to the body’s core.

3 - Detoxification And Enriched Blood Production

In order to swiftly supply enough nutritional substances to core organs, the body starts hyper-producing enriched blood with erythrocytes, oxygen, collagen, and other essential substances. Metabolites and toxins are quickly degraded and eliminated.

4 - Vasodilation And Delivery Of Enriched Blood To Joints and Soft Tissues

After exiting the cryosauna, thermo-receptors recognize the return to normal environment, which triggers vasodilation and the return of the now highly enriched blood, back to peripheral body parts. Nutritional substances transferred by blood are absorbed by peripheral systems - muscles, soft tissues, joints, and skin.

TREATMENT

PLAN BASED

What Does That Mean?

Subjective responses to Whole Body Cryotherapy can be realized after just one treatment. However it is more common for clients to experience meaningful relief from chronic pain and inflammation over a series of regularly scheduled appointments. Whole Body Cryotherapy is often adopted as a client's continual approach to self care.

Because of this, we offer clients Treatment Plan Pricing when sessions are booked in regular intervals. Reduction in treatment costs of up to 20% with additional cost reduction available to Massage Therapy is available.

IMPORTANT

Contraindications

A contraindication is a condition or pathology that would prevent a client from receiving treatment. Essentially it means that the intended benefit of treatment is outweighed by the increased risk of harm to the client.
